"Well, once again, you were right! We have been putting down our phones and getting on the floor with our kids each day. They thrive within the praise that we give them and they have even started helping us set boundaries and rules. My husband (who is already an exceptional dad) has stepped up even more and rough houses with the boys and teaches them something new each day. I have become more content and grateful for the mounds of laundry, dishes, and clutter to work though because I know that all messes were made by the boys I love most. At ages three and five, they help me with the laundry, have started putting their dishes in the dishwasher, and even clean up their own messes now. Instead of looking at our family as another chore, I actually spend time with them and feel like I am actually listening to what they say."
"We are no longer yelling as we discipline. We address the problem right then and move on. All bad choices have a consequence. But the kids know that they are not bad people because of their choices. Mistakes happen and the next time, they will know what the right choice will be. We have been praying with them before bed, and the things that come out of their mouths are hilarious!
