Are you beginning the adoption process or interested in a potential future adoption? Join us for this 4-week class to gain insight from the experiences of adoptive families, learn about the adoption process from those that work for adoption agencies, and gain information from local businessmen on the legalities of adoption. See below to register and for more details on what to expect each class night.
April 11th- Stephen and Jessica Stancil, the class facilitators, will introduce the class. Andy Savage will present a biblical perspective on adoption. Mark Ottinger of Fellowship Memphis will share his adoption stories, along with myths and concerns about adoption.
April 18th- Michael and Paula Sloan will share their adoption story. Ellen Rardin, a local social worker, will speak on adoption readiness and issues to consider before and after adopting. She will also explain the home study process. Kevin Weaver, a local adoption attorney, will discuss the legal issues when adopting and the current TN adoption laws.
April 25th- Cory and Jennifer Billet will share their adoption story. Sue Parker, CEO of Life Choices, will share about the ministry of Life Choices and domestic adoption. Debby Marston, adoption specialist with Bethany Christian Services, will share about their organization and the process of international adoption.
May 2nd- Steve and Angela Dobbins will share their adoption story. Steve Dobbins, a local CPA, will talk about the adoption tax credit. Michelle Stevens will share her adoption story and discuss the process and requirements of foster care. To wrap up the 4 week series, we will have a Q&A with a panel of several adoptive families.
